| Looking forward to getting back into some smaller local comps. I entered three comps around 9 years ago and I have gotten the itch to get back into it. I will keep everyone posted on mu build, which is just plans at this time.
I also have questions about clif designs amps, i have some crap subs atm and i was pushing them with a kicker 300.4 i bought years ago. I recently ended up with a 1200 watt cd5 2xl and hooked it up for the heck of it, sounds alot cleaner than the kicker. I am looking at running 2-3 power acoustik mofos and am trying to decide what amp, amps to push them with. Any suggesttions or input is welcome.

| AQ is a very good bang for the buck. DD and DC are simply amazing, but will set you back a few extra. That also applies to sundown too. | |

| Welcome to the board.
I second Rob on the DD for power. I've been very pleased with my M3a.
What vehicle will you be using for your build?

| Thanks for the welcome guys! Well I have changed my mind on subs and should be picking up my first two, pretty soon. Iam doing this modest build on a budget with my first baby on the way About the subs: (please dont laugh lol) I never thought in a million years I would buy anything q power untill i listened to the black mamba 15s, which are esentially a JL w3 as Q Power bought the design from JL. I was very impressed by how clean and loud a pair of these were in a sealed box! I am going to run the pair on the Clif CD5.2lx and add two more very soon. I have loved Diamond, Kicker and Mtx subs and these Black Mambas sound very much like Diamond, which are the cleanest subs I have ever owned. I will be looking for another Clif Designs CD5.2lx for the second pair of subs. This is an older series amp and i have not found one for sale yet, so any help locating one would be appreciated. I also would like to point out that I am well aware that Clif or Q power are by no means great products lol!! ( I dont want you guys to think I am "that guy" that has cheap stuff and thinks its amazing) For now I will have to live vicariously through the other members builds I have watched several vids on you tube of Sundown, and Earthquake subs and hope to eventually graduate to those and put on some big boy pants haha! I hope to meet some of the local members here soon! | |

| You won't hear me making too much fun of the Black Mambas. I built a t-line for one last year that did a 144 using a Lanzar Vibe amp. I had less than $800 in my entire system and had lots of fun with it.
More importantly, congrats on the pending arrival.

| I owned 6 Black Mambas at the time, but was using only one for the 144. I ended up building a bunch of different enclosures and selling them in pairs on Craigslist. I sold the last pair for $50 (with a sealed box).
It's a shame I didn't know about your build last weekend though. I cut up that t-line enclosure to make some braces for an enclosure in my Navigator. I would have sold you the enclosure for less than what it cost to make it.

| I killed two of the six, but knew they were going a long time (by smell) before they actually seized. I also knew I was pushing them beyond any realistic expectations at their time of death. I ran two in my daily driver (about one hour of listening every day) for several months with no issues. For the dollar, they work well.
I'm now running Sundown 18s for subs and DD for power.

| Update on my "budget build".... I have two black mamba 15s in a prefab on the clif amp at the moment and its fairly loud with a little roof flex. I have two more coming and another prefab as well. I have also got an amp on the way, after doing a lot of reading I decided to go with a planet audio BB 2400.1 (1600 rms x1 @2 ohms). This seems to be a good amp for the price. Hoping its all here by the end of the week.
Will be looking for a batt cap next.
I know prefabs arent the best, but i went this route for now since this is my dd. i will be able to leave two in and still have some trunk, and slide the second pair in for shows.
