A 160.3 on only 5 6x9s is pretty stout. I'm sure there's tons of similarities in the vehicle builds (concrete, lexan, steel reinforcement) between Butler's and Big Jim. The "by-nine" install was done basically as a dare in 2002. The VW bus was a heavy hitter in DB Drag in the late 90s and early 2000s using CV Strokers, was the first to beat Alma Gates in competition, and was the first competitor to top 175 db. While they had tons of power, remember, the huge excursion drivers we have now weren't really around back then.
I will say that Butler's numbers are unbelievable, but, in my humble opinion, the 6x9 install is much funnier.
I really posted this because Midwest SPL is discussing having a similar class called Mayhem for next year and one of the guys that has Steve interested in one of the guys responsible for the build in the video I posted. Anyone have any interest in such a class?
I will now brace myself for the "fart box" comments.
