6th order? Maybe not..18 now..

Well i decided to get another box together for the mojos. Ive been wanting to do a 6th order for a while now too. so,, im giving it a try. I used winisd and got a nice response curve from the design, but if it doesnt work out good enough, Im using flared pvc ports so ill be able to adjust the tuning easily. It will also allow me to change out my port for the large chamber for an spl 6th order box :-) maybe thatll get me to my 155db

oh, and if i cant get the 6th order to work, ill just keep the rear chamber and have it a regular ported box

also.. it might fit in the car... haha

well, when i tried to make a peaky 4th order from winisd, i can up with a really flat response.. Hit it or miss with this one, haha

its all a learning process anyway

Im no good at holding back pics, so here are a few.. still just mdf and glue

more pics. I wanted to use 2 4 inch ports for the front chamber, but the ones i had the flares were too big... so,, i made my own smaller flare versions

Those poor mojos did not like that box design at all, it was pretty cool seeing them puff smoke like an SOB!!!!

it was a night smelling ride home to. ill take them apart tomorrow and look at the damage.

138db at 25hzm, 135is at 35hz i think, and everything above that was 131db.

2 mins of full tilt tones is not good

thats crazy! how much does it cost to make those ports? or where do you get them?

i made the 4 inchers. pretty cheap,
the 8inch flares i got from a guy that maked them.it was 65 shipped for the 4 flares. then i bought a 14ft pipe for the center sections ant it was another 65

I made a mold out of mdf and some kitty hair. then all it takes in a little heat and some good pressure.
i want to make some 10" ports. I have an idea for a jig to make it that will use a 2 ton hydraulic jack for the pressure.

the 4 inch port was pretty easy since it was thin wall, if tried some 6inch but couldnt get enough pressure. i home a 2ton jack will be enough for the 10inch port. if not is a 10 ton too, i think

oh yea,.. talk about a black coil.. haha, the mojos look bad.
If i blow them i my see if a can get the reconed with some sundown parts

do you think the recones will work in the box?

I have a new port in the big chamber tuned to 35, Im gonna test it out tomorrow
