| seen this before, then at the batesville show, the guy with the 2 dd 18s was saying youd need like 30 or some other big number of subs to get past 160s or 70s
i wanna see pics of alans box though.

| ive heard different things about stetsom some say thay are great daily, some say only comps. some say they dont do good under their rated ohm load, Then some dealers say they are rated at a reactive load. so you can wire to .25 ohms on them aslong as you rise over 1 or 2 ohms depending on which version amp you get. from that, that makes me think its more for competition use since you wont have that kind of rise playing music usually.
Then they only have the 1 power and ground input for their 7k 10k and 14k i think.
Ive also read a write up from the Fi guys about how the 7k and up amps also send microwave frequencies through the sub too and fry the tinsel leads
I also read a think about why they are so small and it something with one of the parts in it that i dont know the name of. My numbers probably are right either, but its like where normal amps have a 90 volt thing, those amps have a 140 volt thing. Not really sure what the thing is, but it works apparently.
I was looking at them and sundown a while back and decided on sundown since its closer than brazil, even though they have US distributors now.

| Stetsom is good, but alan could have done that number with any combo of amps and that much power. Sales blew up after he took the SPL WR and with one sub at that. Think about how many people hang on Steve Meades nuts and he only does low to mid 150s street beating W/ 30k not really that impressive. Think how much you hear about how good Rockford amps are and Fi subs. Sure you can get results, but the main part is clean power ( Need electrical to back for this as well) and enclosure design. Before Alan the record was a 180.1-2 ish with 4 Fi 18s and 32,000 rms (forget the amps but not Stestom) by Mike Bartel. It has been beat yet again at Spring Nationals by Craig Butler 181.3( i think) using the same ddz woofers as Alan but 4 of them and 8 stetsom 10ks. So they are getting results, but again those set ups could run any amps capable of putting the power out they have would still do that number.
On the flip side Alan also Bass boxed 5 min strait at over 170db. So i would say they are very good with proper electrical. Even with that said for the price using for daily. There are just as good out there.

| notice the drop of of Fi fans recently?? everyone wants an SMD sub now.
and alan didnt bass box with the single 18 on that power did he?
there has also been some new testing using one of DC spl lvl4xl thats gettin 178+ with with around 7k clamped, but like 30k of rated power. And it was with a paper cone too. but it kinda broke apart at 178+ I think it was a 15 inch sub too. i know its still a ways of from the record but i think with a better cone it will be the next to get the record
edit, all i can find now is where its doing a 177

and alan didnt bass box with the single 18 on that power did he? Yep. I sure have seen it and figured it would. I think it was the same set up. I believe it was at the same contest and i know it was the same vehicle. You could also tell it was not full tilt. He was slowly gaining it up.

Yeah, but we are talking about how people follow brands and then throw them off as junk. Those subs (RE, Fi and even AA) were good before people like Meade got them or his sig line made them known. RE builds the Fi and the AA subs. They are all made under the same house by the same designer. The same can be said for Stetsom amps. No one knew about them till Alan popped a WR with a single sub using them(not many that is). Then they were the next big thing of "there is nothing better out there". Even though his setup would have done that with many different combinations of good amps giving him that power. Sure they are GREAT amps, but there are just as good out there.

| Thats NO retail price. That has to be used. That amp is over $1000 dollars. I have seen them go for around $900 used MMats 3500s they have 2. One that does it at .5 ohm and the other 1ohm. So depending on setup or if running power class you have options 4ohm on the .5 model is like 400-450 at 4ohm. So for a power class that would help alot. SPECIFICATIONS D3500.05 D3500.1 STABLE TO: ½ ohm 1 ohm SINE-WAVE POWER @ 13.8 Volts: Watts @ .5 ohms mono 1 X 3500 N/A Watts @ 1 ohms mono 1 X 1900 1 X 3500 Watts @ 2 ohms mono 1 X 950 1 X 1900 RESISTIVE (RMS) POWER @ 13.8 Volts: Watts @ .5 ohms mono 1 X 2700 N/A Watts @ 1 ohms mono 1 X 1500 1 X 2700 Watts @ 2 ohms mono 1 X 800 1 X 1500 Idle Current: 1.5 amp 1.5 amp Signal to Noise Ratio A-Wtd: <85dB <85dB Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.3% 0.3% Channel Separation: N/A N/A Input Sensitivity: 150mV-2.5V 150mV-2.5V Slew Rate: 13V / Usec 13V / Usec Fuse Rating / Dual: 100 amp 100 amp Dimensions: Height: 2.25” 2.25” Width: 11.375” 11.375” Length: 14.375” 14.375” General Information: Frequency Response: <10Hz to 275Hz Low-pass Filter: Variable 24db, 77 to 275Hz Battery Connectors: 2 Gauge Speaker Connectors: 8 Gauge You also have Sundown 3500.1 and AQ3500.1d that actually puts out that or better power. Any of these would be good amps. Just would have to find what suited you, the build and your wallet best. | |

| 3500 watts on a 2 gauge wire sounds kinda ifey. I would lean more toward to sundown or aq. Man i could never imagine spending 1600.00 on 1 amp. wish i could but that is ALOT of money. | |

Yeah i totally agree. I did have a buddy that was running 2 zx2500.1s with 0 gauge and 300 amp fuse ratings but he gained 3db by using the mmatts 3500s. So some how they do make their power.

| mmats is a good brand. I ran a atomic ph5000 which is rated at 5000 watts and it has a 4 gauge + and -. and it put out some good power so somehow they are doing it | |
